Welcome to ULCU Stage Crew! Thank you all for signing up at Fresher’s Fayre, we’re sure you had a great time and are very grateful for your interest! So let’s get straight down to business and see what is in stall for you all these coming few weeks!
Fresher's Meeting
Come join us in our Fresher’s Meeting on MONDAY 3rd OCT at 6PM at our very own Garage Theatre Workshop. You’ll get to know what we do as a society, be introduced to the committee, and socialise with your fellow mates! Don’t worry about dinner – we have FREE PIZZAS available!! And I heard over the grapevine, some of our members might be bringing brownies and stuff. So make sure you’re there!
Sound and Light Demonstrations
We
constantly reiterate that experience is NOT a criterion to join the
society, and we mean it! If you have absolutely no idea what a sound
designer does, or the difference between a lantern and a lamp, or think
AJ is some elusive expendable chap, come along to our Sound and Light
Demonstrations! You’ll get to learn about how sound and lights work in a
theatre, and hopefully, discover a whole new way of looking at
theatrical productions. There will be two sessions available, and both
will be held in the Garage Theatre Workshop:
- 4th Oct (Tue): 6.30pm – 7.30pm
- 11th Oct (Tue): 6.30pm – 7.30pm
Backstage Tour of the National Theatre
The mammoth theatres of London, and treasure trove of technical delights! We shall be organising a trip to the backstage of the National Theatre, most probably to be held on 8th Oct (Sat). Ticket prices will range from £5 - £6.50 depending on attendance, so details will be confirmed at the Fresher's Meeting itself. A fantastic bargain for a great trip! Be sure to sign up!
Trip to the Theatre
Our society will also be organising a trip to the theatre to watch 39 Steps on 15th Oct (Sat). We will be selling tickets at our meeting on 11th Oct (Mon), so come along and sign up!
If you are not available to turn up for the Fresher’s Meeting on 3rd Oct, do not fret. Our society holds regular Monday meetings at 6pm to discuss all the shows that go on in UCLU (you’ll soon know why!), so feel free to join us!
